5 Phases of Interior Design

1. Programming
All projects, large or small, start with programming. Interior Designers lead meeting sessions where they gather information to understand the project structure, space functions, and overall goals. This would also include a site visit to gather field data.
2. Schematic Design
The Design team will then work on confirming the general location and size of all spaces in the project. Multiple concept boards defining the โlook and feelโ of the space are shared. 3D views or renderings are shared and initial cost estimates are reviewed.

3. Design Development
Design Development is where the designers dive into the final selected design details. All final selections of materials, finishes, and lighting are completed. Product availability is researched, FF&E Specifications and schedules are determined, and refined cost estimate and client sign-off happens.
4. Construction Documentation
Construction Documentation is the final review of all documents from permitting, construction, blueprints, and final plan markups.

5. Construction Administration
Our interior designers & construction team will support execution, installation, & project punch list closeout for the entire job completion.
Space Planning & Functionality

Designing for Mental Clarity: The Power of Space Planning
Space planning is the strategic arrangement of a roomโs layout, pathways, and zones.ย It acts as a director of movement and behavior within the area.ย Space planning matters more than furniture style.ย While furniture style dictates the aesthetic, space flow directly impacts cognitive function and stress levels. ย ย Clear, open pathways reduce subconscious stress, alleviate visual distractions, and enhance emotional balance.ย A well-balanced space is not just about symmetry; it is about proper placement that allows for movement without frustration, proving a sense of comfort.ย
Sustainability & Green Living

Sustainable Materials That Donโt Sacrifice Style
Sustainable materials with a strong focus on merging luxury, durability, and eco-consciousness are redefining interior design. ย ย These materials often bring superior texture and character, ensuring that style is never sacrificed for sustainability.ย A few great sustainable materials ideas are:ย cork, reclaimed wood, recycled glass & metal, plant-based lumber & textiles, and natural clay terracotta. Sustainable materials prove that high-end interior design can coexist with environmental responsibility.ย Both are beautiful and restorative.ย
Form vs. Function

The One Mistake Most DIY Renovations Make
The single most common mistake in DIY renovations is the lack of proper planning before work begins.ย ย Thatโs why design development is the most important part of any new project.ย One should never prioritize aesthetics over functionality.ย Layouts should be carefully considered within daily routines of true functioning real life.ย ย Spaces should be both beautiful and efficient.ย Invest time into planning, sketching, and budgeting before buying materials or swinging a hammer.ย Extensive 3D planning/pre-construction ideas are the keys to a successful functioning space.ย

Seasonal Design Tips

Fall Layers: How to Cozy Up Your Home Without Clutter
Design strategies for transitioning into cooler months while focusing on intentional, functional layers that add texture, warmth, and a personal touch. Textile layering of curated throws, new heavier textured pillow covers, or warm textured area rugs can ground a room to provide comfort and serenity instead of clutter.ย Dimming overhead lights and enhancing the cozy ambiance of a room can help with the cozy minimalist aesthetic.ย Remember to include both natural and organic accents as subtle seasonal touches which last all season long.ย Remove unnecessary items from shelves and surfaces to make room for a few intentional fall pieces.ย
